Annual Shrimp & Catfish Dinner – Saturday, April 29
Woodstock, VA, March 7, 2017 – The 13th Annual Shrimp & Catfish Dinner will be held on Saturday, April 29 at Moose Lodge #575 in Woodstock. The popular community event is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Woodstock. The family-friendly dinner will be served from 4 to 7 p.m.
Shrimp are steamed and catfish fried by professionals on site. Then the Rotarians take over, serving food, delivering drinks and tending to the comforts of diners. Members of the Rotary Club are mainly owners and managers of local businesses and local professionals.
“At this event, every single Rotarian is expected to be on duty,” stated Carter Knapp, current president of the club. “It takes all 70+ members to serve more than 400 local residents who usually attend. Come on over and bring your friends and relatives.”
The dinner is the major fund raising event of the year for the Rotary Club. Profits go toward the annual Rotary Christmas Baskets and the Coats for Kids project.
The shrimp & catfish meal includes hush puppies, cole slaw, beverage and dessert. Kids have the option of chicken nuggets. Adult beverages will be available.
At $30 for adults, $15 for children, tickets are the same price as the last two years. “We are really pleased to keep down the cost of our dinner; a real bargain that includes tax and does not require a tip,” stated Knapp.
Tickets may be purchased from any member of the Rotary Club of Woodstock and at their weekly meeting, at noon on Wednesdays at the Moose Lodge. To purchase tickets by mail, send a check to Rotary Club of Woodstock, P. O. Box 602, Woodstock, VA 22664. For more information, write to Woodstockvarotary@gmail.com.
